Meet the Team
Tony York: Hinckley
Tony is an active member of the Holy Trinity Hinckley church community. Prior to joining Holy Trinity, he was involved in a flourishing men's ministry at St John's – which is also located in Hinckley.
Away from Church life, Tony works in the charitable sector for an organisation committed to combating food poverty and food waste. A former national newspaper journalist and media professional, Tony moved into the third sector world in the early part of 2017 and describes the switch as "one of the best decisions" he has ever made. Having said that, he continues to write. His first novel, Rebellion, which is about the fortunes of a Parliamentary commander in the English Civil Wars, was published at the beginning of December 2019. A sequel, Redemption, is expected at the end of 2020.
He is married to Julie, with whom he has five children (a boy and four daughters), a cat, a rat, two gerbils and a six-foot corn snake.
And during the football season, he and his daughter make a 240-mile round trip to support all of Hull City’s "home" matches!
