Mark Blythe: Sports Consultant
In one sentence Mark Blythe loves all sport, loves Jesus and wants to help churches use sport to share the Good News. Now in his fifties Mark is still playing football, doing triathlons, trying to get his golf better than his wife’s and is passionate about living the lifestyle that will direct people to Jesus. He adores his large and growing family and shows Biblical characteristics of perseverance and believing in miracles by loyally supporting Middlesbrough FC. He still can’t quite believe that he carried the Olympic Torch in 2012, an amazing blessing.
He was born in Australia with Pommie parents so often supports whichever country is winning. A very average sportsman he has somehow managed to complete the 1st London Marathon in 1981, the London to Brighton cycle and run, an Ironman triathlon in 2012, score a point for the Harlem Globetrotters, referee at Wembley and Craven Cottage, play at Highbury and QPR, do the Empire State Building Run-up, complete a Sheffield Don Valley Stadium 12 hour track race, play over 600 football matches for Molesey Community Church FC, represent his county at basketball and swimming and beat his 5 year old grandson at draughts, a truly awesome all round athlete showing that commitment and perseverance can out do talent!
