Jim Page: Liverpool (South)

Jim PageA born and bred 'scouser', Jim lives in the leafy suburbs of Allerton, South Liverpool. He is married to Gill and they have an old ginger tom cat called Cheeky.

For the past ten years, Jim has been a Licensed Lay Minister in the Mossley Hill Team (a three church Anglican Ministry, comprising All Hallows, Allerton, St. Barnabas, Penny Lane [where Paul McCartney sang in the choir!], and St. Matthew & St. James, Mossley Hill).

Jim was encouraged by his parents to attend church up to confirmation, then like many teenagers, was attracted to playing football and hanging out with his mates on Sundays.

Towards the end of his 25 year Civil Engineering career, he was challenged about the depth of his faith by a work colleague, and responded by not only joining his local church, but also going to Belfast in 2005, with 'Through Faith Missions' as part of the 'Walk of 1000 Men' evangelistic outreach programme. This proved to be a spiritual re-awakening which led to further missions: Offa's Dyke (1996), Kent (2000) and Cumbria (2007).

Some six years ago, encouraged by his Team Rector, Godfrey, Jim began 'Man-2-Man' – a Men's Ministry Group across the team, and quickly recognized the benefits of affiliation to CVM!

His passions are Road Cycling, Bruce Springsteen, and telling blokes about Jesus!
(not necessarily in that order!).

One of his favourite Bible verses is Proverbs 27 v17…

"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."

'Sparks MAY fly… but WE WILL be sharper.'

Jim is looking forward to sharing the Good News of Jesus with the blokes of Merseyside, and is privileged to be working with CVM as our Band of Brothers advances across the UK.
