{"id":9572,"date":"2021-09-02T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-09-02T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cvm.org.uk\/blog\/?p=9572"},"modified":"2021-09-01T10:02:42","modified_gmt":"2021-09-01T09:02:42","slug":"blind-spots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cvm.org.uk\/blog\/50plus\/blind-spots\/","title":{"rendered":"Blind Spots"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Some years ago a pharmacist explained that one of the common mistakes made by trainee pharmacists was to cover the braille on the glass with the prescription label! Hence blind people who relied on the braille could not read the prescription&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;which may have been wrong!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are all guilty at times of failing to see that we have blind spots which can inhibit God\u2019s work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the years many church planters have been sent out without the right support financially and without a support\u00a0team &#8211; this has led to some leaving the ministry and even to marriages breaking up! This blind spot has disheartened many who needed the kind of support they should have when embarking on a new outreach\/project.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many years ago I went to a students reunion and one of the new pastors asked &#8211; who is the pastor&#8217;s pastor? We all need people who can not only strengthen us with their support but also come alongside\u00a0with words that encourage us in the tasks that God has called us to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paul valued his team members and often left some of them behind to teach and strengthen the new believers. In Ephesians 6:21 he says -Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant of the Lord will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am doing.
