Don’t know about you, but feeling like our moral compass is all over the place in these uncertain days \u2026\u2026\u2026..<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just off the mobile phone to a friend who has just lost his job, he was with his company for 14 years in a senior position. The way they paid him off was so impersonal; he was told to go to a Skype Call where the HR Manger told him on screen that he was no longer required!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My friend is not a Christian, but he values that I have said that I will be praying for him. There are huge numbers losing their careers in these troubled days, and those of us who are Christians will be looking to scripture, praying to the Lord and asking close believing friends for some kind of direction as to what to do next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In days of old, when people got lost at sea or on land, they would look to the stars or a compass to get their bearings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In these modern days, we often hear the quote that our moral compass is all over the place, we are seeing injustice, division, hatred, good being bad and bad being seen as good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1 Timothy 6:12 Paul says “Fight the good fight of the Faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As followers of Christ, our compass is the word of God or the Holy Spirit, the answers are given through scripture or we can sense a touch from the Holy Spirit.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a world driven by media, we get a constant barrage of what is right and wrong by the standards of the World , which for the most are anti-Christ or, as we say, the upside down compass, the morals are all over the place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Matthew 5:13-14 Jesus says “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.\u00a0You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now more than ever, we as believers are called to the standard bearers in a world that seems to have no moral compass, let us all forget our differences in the body of Christ, and be the salt of the earth, preserving the goodness of the Faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
