On Saturday evening I was at the Cinema to watch the new Sci-fi movie Tenent, the story is about a secret agent who embarks on a dangerous, time bending mission to prevent the start of Word War III. The film was fast paced and all action, but I just could not follow the story, too much jumping around \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.. My 12 year son grasped it though, I must be getting old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking of my son, we have had some really interesting deep conversations of late, he is a bright lad with a sharp mind. Like many Father`s you hope your son will go on and have the same interests as Dad, just so we have a common theme in life. We are both huge sport fans and both love our football, he`s a cracking wee player. But the difference is that I love watching Match of the Day or any live game. Where as my son would prefer the XBOX version of FIFA. He actually said to me,\u201d Dad I am not you, please don\u2019t make me a carbon copy, you need a Reboot into modern life\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To Reboot is to reload the operating system of a computer: to start up again\u2026\u2026\u2026., After a computer crash, the computer is useless until you reboot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So with the Coronavirus causing system crashes in all aspects of life, we know that we will have to Reboot the way we live going forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the church, I hope and pray that we as a body can all Reboot, this will be down to new ideas and strategies in place, and with so much gifting, talent from all ages, believe that God will impart his Holy Spirit to activate a new wine skin that will move across this land. Where the young and old can work together in a way never seen before. Like the book of Acts, where people will gather in homes, gardens and of course the Church building to share the greatest message ever told.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Isaiah 43 v19 \u2013\u00a0See, I am doing a new thing!. Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the Wilderness and streams in the wasteland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This generation are totally different to the one I grew up in, and the way I see and do life is through different eyes to my boy of 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God`s word never changes, but maybe the way we present his Holy word has to change, the presentation or delivery has to be done in a new way.<\/p>\n
