There have been many jokes on Social Media to relieve the tensions at home, and I have to admit, my default to worry and concern is to have a laugh or be stupid, and yes I probably do sometimes go too far in this department.

There are introverts and extroverts in this world. Which one do you tend towards? Or maybe you have a bit of both in your make up. They say an extrovert is like a solar panel; they feel energised when they are around many people and feed off the energy of other folks. Whereas introverts are more like self-charging batteries and are very comfortable being on their own, so in this lockdown introverts are quite comfortable in living away from others.

What I have learnt about myself is that I am a bit of both. I am actually very comfortable with my own company, but also a bit extrovert – maybe that’s because we have 8 people in our home in lockdown. (With the gender balance 5 to 3 in the favour of the females!).

As a man of faith, this time of lockdown has thankfully brought me closer to God. I`m reading more and praying like never before. I feel like the spiritual man inside of me has come back to life like never before. Just last night I was outside the house at 11pm, it was so mild and the sky was crystal clear, so many awesome stars shining brightly. Those close to me know I love to dance, and last night in my garden I danced around the garden without a care in the world, thanking the Lord for all he as done in my life, giving thanks and praising God gives you energy that this world cannot do. Introvert and definitely a bit of extrovert as well!

For my birthday I was given a devotional book called One Minute with the Men of the Bible, going through all the men from the Old and New testaments, I don’t have a favourite but I do love the story of Caleb, no problem was too big for Caleb.

Caleb was one of the 12 spies sent to the promised land, this land was full of milk and honey, a land that had it all.

10 Spies came back and only reported the problems, the giants who ruled the land, but Caleb and Joshua were the only two who believed that God could give them victory.

Caleb was a man with a different Spirit, Numbers 13:30 –“Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it”

So I finish with this: yes we have problems and giants to face everyday, and we can often end up speaking defeat over our lives. But as men of faith we need to be like Caleb and see and claim God`s promises, this man of faith certainly lived a different way.

This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY

We are certainly living a different way at the moment, the virus has changed the way the whole world do, as we call it, “normal” living.
