You could smell the newly cut grass on the football pitches, and even to this day I love the smell of newly cut grass, as it brings wonderful memories flooding back.

We certainly have our troubles to contend with in the current situation facing the world, but by looking through the lens of faith I still believe that spring 2020 will bring many blessings, and that Gods promises are still something to keep hold of.

Proverbs 3 v 6 says- In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths !!

This may be hard to understand in this current climate, yet I believe that the Lord still has authority over all the earth, and we as believers in Christ have to protect our minds by spending time in prayer and searching his word.

Another Proverb (Ch 16 v 9) says this: We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.

He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the God I know will make a way, whatever we face. His promises are true, we cannot see what is ahead, but our Lord knows the way.

As Christians, we look forward to Easter, to celebrate the risen Jesus. He conquered the grave, and our hope is in him, eternity awaits us all, and through him we have overcome death.

So this spring time, in these troubled days, cheer one another on, our hope is not on material things, not in Wall Street or our Government, but our hope, our freedom, is in the one they call, Messiah, Jesus, the Christ.

“Hope is one of the Theological virtues. This means that a continual looking forward to the eternal world is not (as some modern people think) a form of escapism or wishful thinking, but one of the things a Christian is meant to do. It does not mean that we are to leave the present world as it is. If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were just those who thought most of the next.” C S Lewis.

This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-NC

I am not going to mention the word that is filling the news and most conversation at the moment (but it has one of my favourite beers in it). Instead hopefully Im going to encourage you for the months ahead………..
