I came across this prayer the other day. It was based on some meditations from the Northumbrian Community and suits very well the changes in life as we men get older.<\/p>\n

Lord, help me now to un-clutter my life:<\/em>
\n to organise myself in the direction of simplicity.<\/em>
\n Lord, teach me to listen to my heart:<\/em>
\n teach me to welcome change instead of fearing it.<\/em>
\n Lord, I give you these stirrings inside me.<\/em>
\n I give you my discontent \u2013<\/em>
\n I give you my restlessness \u2013<\/em>
\n I give you my doubt \u2013<\/em>
\n I give you my despair \u2013<\/em>
\n I give you all the longings I hold inside.<\/em>
\n Help me listen to these signs of change \u2013 these signs of growth:<\/em>
\n to listen seriously and follow where they lead<\/em>
\n through the breath-taking empty space of an open door.<\/em>
\n Amen.<\/em><\/p>\n
