{"id":5191,"date":"2014-05-08T08:24:33","date_gmt":"2014-05-08T08:24:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cvm.org.uk\/blog\/?p=5191"},"modified":"2015-02-16T10:44:59","modified_gmt":"2015-02-16T10:44:59","slug":"like-father-like-son","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cvm.org.uk\/blog\/50plus\/like-father-like-son\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cLIKE FATHER, LIKE SON!\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was sorting the garage out the other day and realised something really important \u2013 <i>you know you\u2019ve turned into your dad the day you put aside a thin piece of wood specifically to stir paint with!<\/i><\/p>\n<p>This was quite comforting, however, as I can think of no better compliment than for someone to say I am just like my father. I used to want to be remembered as a good administrator, a good manager, a man who was respected and held in high esteem. Now, at 58, my ambition is simply to be known as being my dad\u2019s son, my daughter\u2019s dad and my grandchildren\u2019s \u201cPopsie\u201d!<\/p>\n<p>But will people remember me as being a child of God? How much am I like my Father in heaven in my daily living?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou are just like your father!\u201d has been a criticism by many a mother of her sons!
