People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood\u2026\u2026&#8230;God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.&#8217; Romans 3 v 25a &#8211; 26b.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cvm.org.uk\/blog\/friends-of-cvm\/code-ode-13-guilty-feelings-pt-1\/\" target=\"_blank\">Re-Read Code Ode 13: Guilty Feelings (Part I)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Recite this out loud:<\/strong><br \/>\nIs there someone out there<br \/>\nWho could pay the victims\u2019 cost forever?<br \/>\nSo that all\u2019s not lost forever;<br \/>\nWho could stand for justice, giving<br \/>\nTo that empty word a meaning,<br \/>\nYet forgiving an oppressor, cleaning<br \/>\nOff their slate once earthly dues are paid<br \/>\nAnd dealing with their conscience,<br \/>\nClearing this without demeaning<br \/>\nAll the victims\u2019 dignity.<br \/>\nFor, if this is off the cards<br \/>\nThere is no final hope for victims<br \/>\nOr oppressors or, with due regards<br \/>\nTo our cold apathy, no hope for us,<br \/>\nWhen, to a victim we say \u2018no.\u2019<br \/>\nIn fact, the summing up will show,<br \/>\nAmongst the victims and oppressors,<br \/>\nOver time we\u2019ve all been both.<\/p>\n<p>How could that someone have the right<br \/>\nTo meet the needs of justice on behalf<br \/>\nOf all the victims, solve their plight?<br \/>\nWho could play the other\u2019s part?<br \/>\nOnly one who was the guard<br \/>\nOf justice and who was its heart.<br \/>\nSo when, for justice we cry out,<br \/>\nIt\u2019s just an echo of his thunderous shout.<br \/>\nHow then, could he break the yoke<br \/>\nOf victims\u2019 bitterness and grief,<br \/>\nOppressors\u2019 guilt and free them both?<br \/>\nTo make it real, not just symbolic make believe,<br \/>\nAll victims\u2019 pains would be his pain;<br \/>\nAnd more&#8211; his bearing it would be<br \/>\nEnough to murder our disdain.<br \/>\nHe\u2019d have to love each victim more<br \/>\nThan any victims loved themselves.<br \/>\nA mother\u2019s bond with those she bore,<br \/>\nTo this, a shadow, nothing more.<br \/>\nAnd we as victims and oppressors both<br \/>\nWould need that love held out to all.<br \/>\nOnce owned up to their helplessness<br \/>\nThe cruellest hands which then would grope<br \/>\nWould still be offered mercy, given hope<\/p>\n<p>But for justice to be real,<br \/>\n(Not like some dad, so meek and mild<br \/>\nHe\u2019s helpless, impotent<br \/>\nBefore a wilful, tyrant child),<br \/>\nThe hands that closed against the offer<br \/>\nWould be cast aside forever,<br \/>\nOutside where, unchained \u2013that\u2019s never<br \/>\nChecked, restrained or changed by love,<br \/>\nOppressor feeds upon oppressor.<br \/>\nFor his head to be held high<br \/>\nBefore all victims, and satisfy<br \/>\nThe price of justice, that someone<br \/>\nWould have to be a victim and as one,<br \/>\nBoth live and die.<br \/>\nBut die unjustly as a victim, plain;<br \/>\nWith no oppressor\u2019s part to play,<br \/>\nSo for himself, no price to pay,<br \/>\nSo paying that due from us all.<br \/>\nFor right to win out over wrong<br \/>\nAnd love prove strongest of the strong<br \/>\nAnd hope become a guarantee,<br \/>\nThat someone would have to be<br \/>\nThe one who took on death<br \/>\nWhose steel unbending<br \/>\nHe could bend and break,<br \/>\nTo offer all, new life unending.<\/p>\n<p>Who could carry this eternal can?<br \/>\nOnly one who is both perfect God<br \/>\nAnd lived as perfect man.<br \/>\nThen the measure of my worth would be<br \/>\nHis likeness in, and love for me.<br \/>\nAnd when through mists I dimly see<br \/>\nWhat He intended me to be,<br \/>\nMyself compared now with that treasure<br \/>\nShows my guilt was beyond measure,<br \/>\nAs was all he did for me<br \/>\nTo end that guilt and set me free.<\/p>\n<div class=\"linkwithin_hook\" id=\"https:\/\/www.cvm.org.uk\/blog\/friends-of-cvm\/code-ode-14-guilty-feelings-part-ii\/\"><\/div><script>\n<!-- \/\/LinkWithinCodeStart\nvar linkwithin_site_id = 897245;\nvar linkwithin_div_class = \"linkwithin_hook\";\n\/\/LinkWithinCodeEnd -->\n<\/script>\n<script src=\"http:\/\/www.linkwithin.com\/widget.js\"><\/script>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkwithin.com\/\"><img src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.linkwithin.com\/pixel.png?w=750\" alt=\"Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...\" style=\"border: 0\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Read this: &#8216;For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin.
