We can be slaves to the tyranny of time, or we can be free.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b>Read this:\u00a0<\/b>Ecclesiastes ch. 3 v. 1-11.<\/b><\/p>\n

The first part of it must be amongst the most famous pieces of writing in Western Culture, though most people probably don\u2019t know where it comes from. Verse 11 speaks into every restless searcher\u2019s life.<\/p>\n

Now read this:\u00a0<\/b>1 Corinthians ch.3 v 21-23.<\/b><\/p>\n

Recite this out loud:
\n<\/b>There is a time.
\nThere\u2019s not just time.
\nThere is a\u00a0time.
\nThere comes a time;<\/p>\n

Appointed time,
\nAnointed time,
\nAnticipated, hated time;
\nMuch wanted and unwanted time.<\/p>\n

They hide in time.
\nThey bide their time
\nUntil their time;
\nUntil it\u2019s time
\nFor every purpose under heaven.<\/p>\n

No sooner born than waiting
\nFor the time to die;
\nThe timing\u2019s right, they\u2019re laughing,
\nWhen it\u2019s not the time to cry.<\/p>\n

Holes in socks and time warps
\nBoth need a stitch in time.
\nHarvest\u2019s itching to arrive
\nBefore we\u2019ve tended any vine.<\/p>\n

A time for building up
\nWhat else but some construction;
\nTo stand fast–until the time,
\nThat is, for its destruction.<\/p>\n

A time to throw away
\nAt the end of time to keep;
\nA time reluctantly to zip it
\nAt the end of time to speak.<\/p>\n

Hoping the embrace survives
\nThe time to turn away;
\nSearching till, despairingly
\n\u2018It\u2019 is called a day.<\/p>\n

A time to spend romancing
\nRight up until the break
\nOf dawn, or of the \u00a0romance, dancing
\nTurning to a wake.<\/p>\n

Earnestly we gather stones
\nJust as if it mattered;
\nTime will come when time\u2019s long gone
\nSince every stone was scattered.<\/p>\n

A trooper screams out \u2018Medic!\u2019
\nAs another opens fire.
\nThe time for peace has ended,
\nWith mercenaries on hire.<\/p>\n

Etcetera etcetera
\nAnd so and so and so;
\nEtcetera etcetera
\nAnd round and round we go.<\/p>\n

Craving satisfaction
\nWhen time gives us a chance is
\nTo be driven to distraction
\nBy time\u2019s agent\u2014circumstances.<\/p>\n

\u2018My time\u2019s my own.\u2019 It\u2019s not.
\nOwn up. Sign this confession:
\n\u2018Time-driven and time\u2019s prisoner,
\nI am time\u2019s <\/i>possession.\u2019<\/p>\n

Your heart, it has the heart\u2019s disease.
\nIt\u2019s restless, as is mine.
\nIts rhythm\u2019s from eternity
\nBut it must beat in time.<\/p>\n

In Him whose heart was broken,
\nFor whom ages are as hours,
\nTime present and time future
\nAnd the World, it can be ours.<\/p>\n
