{"id":3836,"date":"2013-04-11T09:04:47","date_gmt":"2013-04-11T09:04:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cvm.org.uk\/blog\/?p=3836"},"modified":"2015-02-16T10:53:18","modified_gmt":"2015-02-16T10:53:18","slug":"delicious-snack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cvm.org.uk\/blog\/50plus\/delicious-snack\/","title":{"rendered":"Delicious snack?!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I have had 2 recent business trips, one to Amsterdam and one to Frankfurt. On the flights they have just enough time to give you a snack and a drink.<\/p>\n<p>Flying economy means that the snack is somewhat minimalist. On one flight it was a sausage salad, another it was half a sandwich, however one snack made a lasting impression on me.\u00a0It was a packet of little savoury cheese biscuits with the words <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em><strong>&#8220;Delicious Snack\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/span> boldly declared on the front.<\/p>\n<p>When I read the ingredients (there was nothing else to do), I discovered it contained a long list of \u201cE\u201d numbers and definitely no cheese included. (Is there an E number for cheese)? The simple thought struck me that<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>labelling something as \u201cdelicious\u201d does not make the contents delicious.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>During the Amsterdam trip we stayed in a hotel that was handy for the station, it was also handy for a variety of restaurants. However, it was less helpful with it being closer to a lot of establishments offering services your pastor \/ minister \/ wife would not approve of.<\/p>\n<p>It was a strange mix of a beautiful old city with canals and tourism mixed up with brightly presented sleaze.<\/p>\n<p>It reminded me of the snack \u2013 it said it was delicious; however the packet contained something fake and artificial.\u00a0I suppose it\u2019s a principle that applies to all of us!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>&#8220;what is on the outside should also be on the inside or putting it another way, what is inside us should be seen on the outside.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Let you light shine.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"linkwithin_hook\" id=\"https:\/\/www.cvm.org.uk\/blog\/50plus\/delicious-snack\/\"><\/div><script>\n<!-- \/\/LinkWithinCodeStart\nvar linkwithin_site_id = 897245;\nvar linkwithin_div_class = \"linkwithin_hook\";\n\/\/LinkWithinCodeEnd -->\n<\/script>\n<script src=\"http:\/\/www.linkwithin.com\/widget.js\"><\/script>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkwithin.com\/\"><img src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.linkwithin.com\/pixel.png?w=750\" alt=\"Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...\" style=\"border: 0\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; I have had 2 recent business trips, one to Amsterdam and one to Frankfurt.
