{"id":3518,"date":"2012-12-17T10:54:12","date_gmt":"2012-12-17T10:54:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cvm.org.uk\/blog\/?p=3518"},"modified":"2016-01-06T14:31:05","modified_gmt":"2016-01-06T14:31:05","slug":"the-bouras-bulletin-48","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cvm.org.uk\/blog\/the-bouras-bulletin\/the-bouras-bulletin-48\/","title":{"rendered":"The Bouras Bulletin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jonathan Trott and Ian Bell both scored centuries as England drew the final test against Nagpur to win their first series in India for 27 years.<\/p>\n<p>India had declared after an hour of day three, still four runs behind the visitors\u2019 first innings total of 330, in the hope of bowling England out in time to win the match but Trott and Bell anchored England\u2019 second innings with scores of 143 and 116 not out respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester United and Manchester City both beat their North East opponents 3-1 to maintain the United\u2019s six-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.<\/p>\n<p>Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney continued their fine scoring runs in United\u2019s home win against Sunderland while City dominated at Newcastle.<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea lost the Club World Cup final, going down 1-0 to South American champions Corinthians.<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea had breezed past opponents from Central America, Monterey, in the semi-final but Fernando Torres and Gary Cahill both wasted good chances in their final defeat, the latter being shown a red card late in the game.<\/p>\n<p>Amir Khan\u2019s career is back on track after winning a make-or-break fight against Carlos Molina in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>Khan bounced back from defeats in his last two fights to stop Molina in the tenth round and is now eyeing a rematch with WBC and WBA champion Danny Garcia.<\/p>\n<p>And Bradley Wiggins has been voted BBC Sports Personality.
