\nAm go\u2019n dazzle all the Kasbah.
\nWe\u2019ll be drinkin\u2019 good wine;
\nBe a stinkin\u2019 good time.
\nAm go\u2019n take it further
\nWhen they say, \u2018Don\u2019t take it that far!\u2019 \u201c<\/p>\n

He invites a thousand,
\nThey\u2019se all A-list glitterati.
\nIncludes his wives and girlfriends,
\n\u2018Cause no way they\u2019ll miss the party!
\nHis dad was Neb\u2019 kanezz-ar
\nIt\u2019s bad for poor old Shazz-ar
\nLivin\u2019 in the shadow of
\nOl\u2019 Neb, who was a smarty.<\/p>\n

\u201cAm Shazz the man, an\u2019 am so baad!\u201d
\nHe looks to push the boat out.
\n\u201cNot like ol\u2019 dad \u2018cause he went mad
\nAnd looked a fool with no clout.\u201d
\nOl\u2019 Neb, he had a showdown
\nWith God who brought him low down.
\nIf Neb was wondrin\u2019 who was boss,
\nThen he found out with no doubt!<\/p>\n

But Shazz was like, \u201cWhat\u2019s with this thing?
\nC\u2019mon, must be a phony!
\nA \u2018God\u2019 who\u2019s bigger than the King-
\nSo how\u2019d I face my homies?
\nThis \u2018God\u2019, needs to be shut down,
\nA bod who needs a put down.\u201d
\nHe did it and he flashed the bling
\nIn front of all his cronies.<\/p>\n

Now Judah, it bin\u2019 treated rough,
\nNeb pillaged all its treasure.
\nHe carted off the sacred stuff
\nTo Babylon at leisure.
\nBling\u2019s no real valuation-
\nThe thing\u2019s God\u2019s reputation.
\nAnd Shazz he dissed that right enough,
\nAll through his night of pleasure.<\/p>\n

So when the wine was flowin\u2019
\nAn\u2019 they sorta got a swing on,
\nHe set the party goin\u2019,
\nSaid, \u201cGot somethin\u2019 else to bring on.\u201d
\nShazz used all Judah\u2019s treasures
\nAs boozers\u2019 drinkin\u2019 measures.
\nThey toasted local idols
\n\u2018Cause they\u2019s somethin\u2019 safe to cling on.<\/p>\n

His pride got over heated,
\nNeedin\u2019 somethin\u2019 doin\u2019 drastic.
\nAn\u2019 arrogance, deep seated —
\nThat\u2019s a call for the fantastic.
\nThen where a lamp is standin,\u2019
\nA hand appears, just hangin\u2019.
\nThe body bin deleted,
\nAnd it\u2019s real, it isn\u2019t plastic.<\/p>\n

All eerie in that dim light,
\nSeems that somethin\u2019creepy\u2019s startin\u2019;
\nA myst\u2019ry note, is filled in by
\nThe hand, before departin\u2019.
\nAnd, dude, that spooky scrawl
\nWould prove the writin\u2019 on the wall.
\nFour words in some weird lingo:
\n\u2018Mene mene tekel parsin\u2019.<\/p>\n

Graffiti quite outlandish,
\nWas too much for Shazz to take in.
\nHe couldn\u2019t understand it,
\nSo, like Elvis, started shakin\u2019.
\nNo menu he could drop down
\nSo wha\u2019d he do, but flop down.
\nHe found no-one to crack the code
\nNo matter who he raked in.<\/p>\n

Nobody was of any use
\nExcept, that is, The Queen Mum.
\nSaid, \u201cHail Oh King! Stay cool, hang loose.
\nWe\u2019ll find out what it means, son.
\nWith riddles needin\u2019 solvin\u2019
\nThere\u2019s a man who needs involvin\u2019.
\nHis name is Dan; he\u2019s all good news,
\nHe even sees your dreams, hun.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was the brains for your ol\u2019 dad–
\nYour dad, the king, I\u2019m sayin.\u201d
\n(Did she say that to make him mad?
\nThe obvious, she\u2019s statin\u2019.)
\n\u201cHe\u2019s got more intel inside.
\nThe gods sure yell for his side.\u201d
\nSo Dan gets called to Shazz\u2019s pad
\nAnd Shazz thinks, \u201cWha\u2019 do I pay him?\u201d<\/p>\n

Shazz says if Dan\u2019s the real thing-
\nAchieves a resolution,
\nHe\u2019ll get the Gucci an\u2019 the bling,
\nBe made an institution:
\nFor word trace and translation
\nOffers third place in the nation.
\nBut Dan says, \u201cThanks, no thanks Oh king,
\nNo fee for the solution.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOl\u2019 Neb as king of thee known world
\nWas up himself, and big time.
\nBut God made him look so absurd
\nIt flipped him like a trip line.
\nHe got the thing, the lesson
\nThat God\u2019s the King, no mess\u2019n.
\nKing Shazz, you know all this occurred
\nBut you don\u2019t give a fig, mind.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Lord of Life, you dissed Him good;
\nThe One who holds your future.
\nThat\u2019s why He spoke into the hood
\nAnd loud as any hooter.\u201d
\nThat fist, it\u2019s got a punchline-
\nIt\u2019s, \u2018he\u2019ll be gone by lunchtime.\u2019\u201d
\nThe Lord, Dan made it understood,
\nIs judge and prosecutor.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Mene\u2019; that means \u2018numbered\u2019 and
\nThe days you got are zero.
\n\u2018Tekel\u2019 means that you bin\u2019 weighed.
\nYou lightweight, you\u2019re no hero.\u201d
\nFour words have bin\u2019 hand written.
\nYour world y\u2019see is splittn\u2019.
\n\u2018Parsin\u2019 means \u2018divided\u2019 and
\nTwo into one, you\u2019ll see, go.\u201d<\/p>\n

That same night king Shazz got whacked,
\n(Or \u2018killed\u2019 in other versions).
\nAnd, as we said, his Empire cracked;
\nHalf each to Medes and Persians.
\nIt\u2019s right, right on, not \u2018off the wall\u2019,
\nThat pride might come before the fall.
\nThat plastered wall was lightly scratched
\nWith sober, deep assertions.
