Graeme McDowell missed a 25ft birdie putt to force a playoff in the US Open in the early hours of Monday morning, allowing Webb Simspon to win his first win in a major.<\/p>\n
2010 champion McDowell shared the lead with Jim Furyk going into the final round of the championship at the Olympic Club in California, four shots ahead of Simpson, but carded a three-over-par 75 to slip back.<\/p>\n
