Meet the Team
Steve Tooth: Birmingham
My Name is Steve Tooth and I have been married to Sarah since 2003 and we have 5 healthy and expensive children. Callum the eldest is well on his way to being a worship leader and is very active in the worship band at our church and looking forward to starting college in September where he will study music. Nathan (next in line) is a talented musician also but lacks the confidence to put himself forward. That's the boys over with and now for the fairer sex; Georgia, a budding guitarist gave up playing tenor horn in favour of the acoustic sound. Then finally the terrible twins Leigh-Anne and Hannah; The former hoping to excel at drumming (when her lessons start again), and Hannah, a potential pianist (if she can ever be bothered to practice). Well after reading that lot back, we sound like a musical family…(we did appear as the Von-Teeth in a church talent show) I will say I have given up playing the baritone saxophone in a concert band to allow me more time to tackle this role. Let God come first and the rest won't matter…
I am a director of a Renewable energies company that operates throughout the Midlands offering both domestic residential and commercial sectors advice on energy saving measures and solutions. I am found at the back of our church during most services as I am active on the Tech team either as a sound engineer or lighting engineer depending on which week it is. In my spare time I enjoy watching F1 and Rugby (union) and also like to keep tabs on the local football scores.
I first heard of CVM just before the 1st gathering but didn't attend, I have however attended every year since and will be there again in June. I have for a couple of years been searching for where I could play a role within this great organisation and once I saw this role advertised started to wonder if I could devote enough time and effort into making a success of being an area co-ordinator with my current commitments. As previously mentioned I have adjusted my priorities a little in order to facilitate this.
What can I bring to the role? …I hope that my down to earth and yet professional approach will enable me to engage with all that comes before me. I want to reach out to men across the area and help lead them to a life with Christ while enabling them to accept that God welcomes them, warts and all. I was baptised a Catholic as a child and grew up knowing God but it was after attending The Gathering that I truly felt there was something missing in my relationship with the Lord and began to explore my faith. One of my great passions is to see ALL Christian denominations working closely together for the good of our kingdom and the glory of God the Father.
